The Gift Card plugin adds a complete gift card system to your WebCommander store. Customers can purchase gift cards for themselves, or send them to someone else by email, post, or instant message — with a personal design, a greeting note, and a scheduled delivery date. Recipients redeem their code at checkout, with any remaining balance carrying forward automatically.

For store administrators, it's a fully managed product type: create gift card products the same way you create any other product, upload branded card designs, configure validity and delivery settings, and track performance from a dedicated analytics dashboard.

Key Features

Gift Card Product Type
Once the plugin is installed, Gift Card appears as a selectable product type in the Add Product flow. Set a name, SKU, base price, and upload one or more branded card designs — customers choose their preferred design at purchase.

Multiple Delivery Methods
Customers can add a gift card to their own cart for personal use, or send it as a gift via email, post, or instant message. Email and IM delivery supports scheduled send dates, so a gift card can arrive on a birthday or occasion without the sender having to time it manually.

Redemption and Balance Management
Recipients redeem their gift card code through My Account, where they can also check their current balance. At checkout, available gift card credit is applied automatically — if the order total exceeds the balance, customers pay the remainder with another payment method.

Branded Card Designs
Upload multiple visual templates for your gift cards. Customers select their preferred design during the send flow, giving the recipient a more considered, branded experience.

Expiry and Validity Controls
Set a validity duration in days, weeks, months, or years. The expiry date is calculated at issuance and displayed to the customer, keeping expectations clear.

Terms and Conditions
Require customers to accept terms before completing a gift card purchase. Link to an internal page, an external URL, or paste in specific text — configured once, applied to every purchase.

Analytics Dashboard
A dedicated analytics tab in the plugin shows total sales, cards sold, total value redeemed, and value sent as gifts — giving you a clear picture of how gift cards contribute to store revenue.
